 ****************\n\n We invite you to attend PET-CON 2024.1 -- the 12th con
 vention in Germany in the area of Privacy Enhancing Techniques. PET-CON bri
 ngs together students (B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD), junior researchers, privacy acti
 vists and other interested people to discuss work in progress. PET-CON is o
 rganized by the PET interest group of the German Computer Science Society (
 GI). Previous PET-CONs took place at University of Bamberg,  TU Berlin, Uni
 versity of Hamburg, University of Regensburg, TU Dresden, TU Darmstadt, RWT
 H Aachen, Goethe University Frankfurt, and University of Göttingen.\n\nPET-
 CON is a very informal gathering. The workshop consists of short contribute
 d talks (10-15 minutes) followed by extensive feedback and discussions (up 
 to 45 minutes). For instance, students can present planned, ongoing, and re
 cently finished theses in order to receive feedback. We also accept present
 ations of papers that have already been published elsewhere. You can also a
 ttend the convention without giving a talk at all.\n\nTOPICS OF INTEREST (a

 ineering 	Inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives to privacy and technolo
 gies (techno-legal, techno-economic, ...) \n\nIn the past there have been p
 resentations on abuse detection and protection of PETs, anonymous routing, 
 application layer privacy, big data and data protection, economics of PETs,
  end-user education and training for PETs, HCI issues and usability of PETs
 , intrusion detection while respecting privacy, location privacy, metrics f
 or quality of protection by the PETs, performance optimization and measurem
 ent, privacy engineering, privacy for mobile networks and smartphone applic
 ations, privacy in ubiquitous computing environments, related legal issues

 -14 March 2024    We will have a (self-payed) lunch (12 pm), dinner on Wedn
 esday, and lunch on Thursday. The workshop starts on Wednesday at 1:30 pm a
 nd ends on Thursday at 2 pm.\n\nFor lunch, there will be a local arrangemen
 t (e.g., canteen) providing vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian options. 
 The restaurant for dinner will also be announced later.\n\nREGISTRATION\n\n
 Participation is granted on a first come first served basis. There is no pa
