In many situations, the use of Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) can be considered mandatory from a legal perspective, but in practice, the adoption of PETs is lagging behind considerably. In this talk, we will go through some cases where PETs have been applied, and we will try to analyze what the hurdles are.

Freek has a background in Pattern Recognition and Computer Vision. He has worked with the Dutch Research & Technology Organization TNO since 2003 in various roles and domains. He is currently program director of TNO's AI research program, and he leads the National Innovation Center for Privacy Enhancing Technologies in the Netherlands.
